it's been too long

hello, darling readers. sorry for my long absence from posting. i took a hiatus while sorting out summer plans (pittsburgh is my base for the summer) and then a short vacation to hang out with two of my very favorite people (bacon and ben) in washington, d.c./northern virginia while moving into my apartment in charlottesville (ben, you were invaluable in helping set up that desk. really. bacon, you were invaluable at...finding hookah bars).

in other news, i've switched the picture at the top of the blog again. i thought it was time to go back to marilyn...i'm feeling a little old-school hollywood, even though all three of your lovely writers are now on the east coast for the time being. any objections, let me know.

there's not much to update on my life right now...i'm working during the day and developing a project of my own on the side, so stay tuned for news from that as i iron out the kinks and work with the ever-amazing erika chow on some programming issues. hint: i'm out to singlehandedly take down the two-party system, and all of the partisan nonsense that goes with it. who was it that said "that government is best which governs least?"

but in the meantime, i feel that strange compulsion to share with you all two video clips: one long and so-serious-it's-almost-funny, and one short, obviously hilarious. watch a bit of the first and then lighten up with the second. they star two rising celebrities of the democrat party (i warned you, i'm becoming rabidly antipartisan. is that a word?).

hillary: nevermind...just listen. and pray she doesn't try to record a duet with celine dion for her campaign.
