I've Been Cooped Up in This Bedroom for Far Too Long

Hello darlings!

I'm sorry that you havent heard from me in a while... I've been occupying the sick bed for about a week now, and today I finally felt well enough to do something other than sleep off my illness. I've been on cough syrup and other pain relieving medicine for a few days now, and I'm happy to report that I feel pretty much normal again except for my runny nose and scratchy voice from my sore throat. The good news: I have a feeling i'm going to be perfectly healthy again tomorrow; bad news: my scratchy voice sounds kinda hot, and it's returning to it's annoying, high pitched normal self very soon. darn.

Anyway, enough about my worthless immune system. Let's talk about the MTV Movie Awards. Personally, I thought they were lame...

Highlights: Performances by Rihanna and Amy Winehouse, and Will Ferrell making out with the dude from Borat.

Lowlights: everything else, particularly Posh Spice (man, was she mind-numbingly bland during those 15 seconds of stage time), and Sarah Silverman is ugly... I don't understand why they didn't have Dane Cook do the whole thing. That would have saved the show I think. It just seemed really rushed and the whole ad thing being weaved into the show was annoying... made the whole thing look like a big Pontiac/Orbit Gum commercial. Overall: BORING!

Moving on: I like what VH1 is doing during the wee hours of the morning when I can't sleep because I'm having trouble breathing... here's a bunch of good stuff that was on the other night.

1) Cold War Kids- "Hang Me Up to Dry"

I love the way this video was shot. The look of it is just raw, yet classy. Plus, I just can't get this hook out of my head.



2) Feist- "1234"

This entire video was taped during one take... it was probably the 7346759th one, but they didnt cut to the different angles. That's cool. I also want that shimmery thing this chick is wearing.



3)Amy Winehouse- "You Know I'm No Good"

Amy's a superstar. She can do no wrong.



4) Matt Kearney- "Undeniable"

This song reminds me of my boyfriend Jordan, I miss him.



5) Fiona Apple- "Not About Love"

I love the fat guy in this. He has some sick ass moves.



6) James Morrison- "Wonderful World"

Could this kid be related to rock legend Jim Morrison?? I just like this song for some reason.



7) Paolo Nutini- "Last Request"

This dude's really fug, but the song's cute.
